SBI Holdings’ VCTRADE is Japan’s first bank-backed cryptocurrency exchange. It allows users to currently exchange Ripple (XRP), Bitcoin (BTC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Now it’s working extra hard to handle the new user influx the success of its launch.
The platform launched and was available to the public on July 18th, and even though they were prepped for an influx of users, they weren’t expecting this magnitude of new sign-ups. VCTRADE says that it can’t process all the new applicants and new users will be put on a waitlist in order to use their service. This will bring in new investors guaranteed.
According to their informational bulletin for new accounts, new users may “take longer to process than usual.”
“At the launch of full-scale services, expecting customer inflow from the SBI Group’s customer base of 23.47 million, specifically, SBI SECURITIES with approx. 4.26 million accounts, SBI Sumishin Net Bank with approx. 3.21 million accounts, and SBI Liquidity Market, including SBI FXTRADE, with approx. 1.05 million accounts, etc.”
SBI Holdings said that it expects to onboard customers from its huge user base of more than 23M people around the world. But even with this many people, it didn’t expect this level of sign ups. They first invested in Ripple in 2016 and they offer a huge list of services to its cusomtesr from brokerage, investment tanking, internal exchange, P2P lending, and even insurance.
