IOTA and Volkswagen will present a new proof of concept showing off how IOTA can help secure, decentralize, and distribute data in the automotive industry.
VW says it’s trying to integrate IOTA’s Tangle to power many features in its fleet of vehicles. Tangle is IOTA’s open-source distributed ledger technology software and can be used to help with software updates, car information, and other miscellaneous notifications.
Some of this includes automatic car software updates, recalls, and ownership data for each individual vehicles. The technology can help it create trust with customers and third-parties. With Tangle integration in Volkswagen vehicles, it can be used to power pretty much all software-related functionalities in the car with efficiency.
IOTA and VW will showcase Tangle integration at CeBit 2018. The proof of concept is already surfacing the web and is viewable.
CeBit 2018 is Europe’s tech expo for digitization fo business, government, and society and runs from 6/11 to 6/15 at the Hanover Fairgrounds in Germany.
